At only 15yrs old was matched with an excellent infighter, moving in with barrages of punches and kicks. Ramesh had fought this opponent before winning by knockout, but this was a different and well improved fighter.
After being surprised by his opponent’s aggressive attack, Ramesh gained his feet and struck back with his trademark high kicks and even connected with a well placed side kick and spinning kick. In the last round Ramesh pulled out a gutsy and skilled finish winning by split decision.

Congratulations to all the fighters who competed at last night’s kickboxing event. Eva, Paul, Ramen and Ramesh gave it their all in front of a large crowd at the Coburg town hall.
First fight of the night was Ramen. A much improved fighter, Ramen took it to his opponent over the 3 rounds and narrowly missed out by 1 point in a split decision, I’ve seen the replay and well!!! See the video for yourself.
Next fight was Paul in the middle weight division. Paul came out blasting, on fire, putting together combinations and getting 2 standing 8 counts on his opponent ending in a unanimous decision win.
Next up was Ramesh, at only 15yrs old was matched with an excellent infighter, moving in with barrages of punches and kicks.
Our last fighter was Eva, coming up against a much more experienced opponent and although a bit of a mismatch, she showed that once again she had the heart of a lion and went the distance, punching and kicking all the way. The crowd in the beginning was cheering for the opposition but in the end turned and started cheering for the underdog with heart as all Aussie crowds do.
An invaluable experience was gained by all fighters and this has pushed them to a new level. A level that is hard fought and won and can only be gained in full contact experience. Well done to all.
